Terms & Conditions
1. Appointment Bookings & Cancellations
- If you are unable to attend your booking, cancellations or reschedules require at least 48 hours notice so its possible to fill the slot. Cancellations made with less than the required notice will incur a late cancellation fee of 50% of the original groom price. No further grooms will be booked until this is paid.
- Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in refusal of future bookings.
2. Access & Parking
- The client must ensure a safe and legal parking space is available for the grooming van at the property. The equivalent of 2 car parking spaces is needed to ensure the van will fit. Due to equipment and water system requirements, the grooming van cannot be parked on a hill, steep incline or uneven surface. It is also important to add that this will need to be within 20 metres of an electrical source, which I can plug my power cable into your electric.
- If parking is not available or unsafe, the appointment may be cancelled and a call-out fee of the full groom price will apply.
3. Pet Health & Vaccinations
- Owners must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or behavioural issues before the appointment.
- Grooming may be refused if the pet shows signs of illness, parasites, or injury.
4. Matted Coats
- Severely matted coats require extra time and care, which may incur an additional fee. In extreme cases, shaving may be necessary for the dog’s comfort and safety.
- ‘Scrub-a-Pup’ is not liable for any pre-existing skin irritation, redness, or nicks revealed by mat removal.
- The groomer will always act in the best interest of the dog’s health and comfort.
5. Aggressive or Difficult Dogs
- Owners must inform the groomer of any known aggression, anxiety, or behavioural issues.
- If a dog becomes overly stressed, or poses a risk to safety, grooming will stop immediately. The full grooming fee may still be charged even if the groom is incomplete. Whereby you will be offered a separate appointment to attempt to finish the groom.
6. Accidents & Emergencies
- While every care is taken, grooming involves tools that can cause injury if a dog moves suddenly. In the rare event of an accident, you will be notified immediately. If emergency veterinary care is required, ‘Scrub-a-Pup’ is authorised to seek treatment at the nearest vet. The owner is responsible for all associated costs.
7. Fleas & Parasites
- If fleas are discovered during grooming, a flea treatment fee will be added, and the session may be shortened or stopped to prevent contamination. The owner will be advised to treat their home and pet accordingly before future appointments.
8. Photography & Social Media
- With your consent, ‘Scrub-a-Pup’ may take before-and-after photos of your dog for social media or promotional use. Photos will never include identifiable information about you or your location.
9. Payment
- Payment is due before, or at the time of service, by cash or bank transfer.
10. Satisfaction & Complaints
- If you’re unhappy with your dog’s groom, please notify ‘Scrub-a-Pup’ within 24 hours so any issues can be addressed. After this period, the groom will not be considered ‘fresh’, as the coat may have settled or become dirty, therefore making it difficult to assess and rectify.
11. Liability
- Scrub-a-Pup will not be held responsible for pre-existing conditions, allergic reactions, or issues arising from lack of disclosure by the owner.
- By booking, you acknowledge that grooming involves inherent risks, and you consent to treatment at your own discretion.
12. Agreement
- By scheduling an appointment with ‘Scrub-a-Pup’, you agree to these terms and conditions.
